New army commander in chief and a PM in waiting ?

So to which army faction does he belong?

Is his uniform from the Napoleon period? Has the guy ever been involved in any real military action or is he just a friend of someone high up?

To the inactive posts regiment/battalion I guess...... surly there must be may of them by now,

both police and army.....

His bank account must be a lot lighter now.

"Chalermchai's appointment marks a departure from the Burapha Payak royalist military faction - known as the "Eastern Tigers" - that propelled junta chief Prayut Chan-ocha to power."

He only declared 29,917,197.59 baht, considering the Samui police chief is reported to have paid 2 million for his job, I reckon the Army Commander in Chief position would cost most of what he had!

A few wise investments will sort that out...

Well now, there's a surprise.

Eastern Tigers? Eastern Cowards more like - the only action they've ever seen is shooting unarmed Thai civilians.

he surely is gold-encrusted...

Wong Thewan I'm guessing?

It sounds like a grand compromise has been made, maybe there was no option? Burupha Phayak has long marginalized the formerly dominant, and higher status, Wong Thewan faction so now may be the time to bring them back in to the fold, instead of "going to the mattresses".

Promoted for loyalty to the regime - Deputy Secretary-General of the NCPO!

There are higher up decision makers that do not trust the Burupha Phayak clique and the concentration of power they amassed.

At least he is not weighted down with row upon row of medals same as North Korean Generals, most of whom have never been in battle! They must get medals every time they say "yes boss".

The faction they belong to is the "Clown Brigade"  :cheesy:
