tonray
Question: can I get my medical clearance done in Thailand before applying at NYC consulate? Would that be accepted ? A whole lot cheaper than getting it done in USA without insurance and maybe having to wait 3 weeks for result.

tonray
Thanks.. Hardly worth it.. Blood work without insurance could cost 1000 bucks or more. Perhaps I will cancel trip plans and go to plan b.
Pib
As they NYC consulate website states, the medical certificate must be from the "....country of application..." Three copies of medical certificate form completed by a doctor in the country of application showing no prohibitive diseases. Certificate forms must be less than three months old. Samui Bodoh
I did my O-A long stay in Canada. I wrote to the consulate and asked if I could do the medical in Thailand and they said okay as long as I used their form.did it at the International hospital in Samui for 250 baht. Might be worth writing and asking. Good luck
Langsuan Man
Unfortunately depends upon who is processing your paperwork Washington DC Embassy accepted a Medical Certificate for an O-A from Bangkok Nursing Home Hospital that they were more than willing to email me since I had just had a annual physical while on a 30 day permission to stay But that was in the days when Thai Embassy had Thais handling O-A Visas, I seriously doubt if the local hire would allow it today, because, as shown above, it does require that it be done in your home country
