Udon Thani Airport parking

I use this airport a lot and there never used to be any problem getting a parking space.

Last couple of months whenever you go to the airport the parking lot is packed to overflowing, and now there's big signs up that say LIMIT 1 hr. which solve's nothing of course

There's not that many flights a day out of here so what's happened with the parking?

There is nearly 50 flights a day in/out --in about a 13 hour period, & is now extended for international. I guess the 1 hour parking rule may stop the people working there using it. Its still one of the few airports that don't charge for parking---maybe that should be the next step.

For month, it's a really bullshit to park in UTH airport. So when i have to park, i use the "carpark" 5 minutes outside on the ring.  100 bahts per day, covering hangar with guard and free pick up/drop off, just call

Yep always a pain getting parking there. I was under the impression that the buildings past the terminal end were meant to become a bigger parking lot and also a paid long term parking area. Never happened or hasn't happened yet. I do know however many people Thai and Falang (may have even done it myself)  use the lot as long term parking when the go on day trips or weekends away. Also for a small airport there are a tremendous amount of flights in and out don't know where you get the idea there aren't many flights.

I don't think there are more flights than there was 6 months ago when you could wheel in and get a spot and go into the terminal to meet people.

What I'm wondering is why the lot seems to be packed to being overfull now.

When you leave the airport, turn left, go straight then turn left again on the red light sign to engage the south ring.

After few hundred meters on the 4 lane , on your left a large hangar close to the road.

I leave my cars for 15 days there in march 2016. I call in the morning when i coming back from France to advise them about my flight scheduleto UTH. They make the pick up on time at the airport and i find my car  freshly washed, no dust, nothing... :)
