Why would anyone bash Brits....at the Ploenchit Fair a year ago, the BEC Tero Hall was filled with vendors, and a center stage was assembled for various people to speak. An elderly English woman began to moderate a discussion, "How to Survive Bangkok", or some other similar nonsense. With total disregard of the listening audience, half of which were Thais, the lady began a vicious and racist tirade. "Those Thias, they are so slow...they have no initiative...and they drink...and they smell..." She went on and on for a half hour. The entire audience was stunned to silence. I then realized that some Brits believe that anywhere they live, that part of the world is considered to be a colony. I thought that mindset ended with India's independence. Evidently not.

This thread is getting crap.

Again, I'll say there are good and bad in EVERY country!

im at night school in australia doing a thai business course.

the subject of aussie culture come up and i said to the lecturer that we have no real culture in australia except aussie BBQ'S and the beach.

i mean real culture like los, india or europe. we are only 200 years old and come from bloody convict england so what culture have we got.?

frig all and who gives a toss.

anyway this older lady jumped up and went off her trolly like id just murdered the queen and was gunning for john howard. :D

i just started laughing at her and she left the class and run off home.

Do they allow you to drink on Sundays in WA now? The last time I was there the only place you could get a Sunday pint was the Missions to Seamen (Flying Angel) in Freo and you had to be a foreigner to get in :D
