A sad tragedy.  Terrible and  unnecessary loss of life.  I pray they have taken away a valuable lesson from this.  Do not go on the water without a life vest if you cannot swim.

I often travel by ferries and know that the majority of people do not know how to swim.  They definitely are not trained to swim/survive for an extended period of time in the water in case of an accident.

I would say only half ware life vests on board.  It's hard to comprehend.

it is more saddening because the accident occurred during a religious event.

Why? It would have been equally sad for the families concerned had it been at a secular event.

And if the people concerned hadn't followed some ancient mumbo-jumbo superstition it wouldn't have happened at all.

It's all Allah's fault.  Blame him.
