BANGKOK: -- Defence permanent secretary General Preecha Chan-ocha has defended his son against criticisms that the latter two construction contracts worth about 26.9 million baht from the army because of his connections.

Break his long silence since the emergence of the criticisms in the social media a few days ago, General Preecha claimed that his son complied with the bidding regulations like the other bidders.

He also said that he was out of the third army region for several years, apparently, referring to the construction projects of the third army region.

As for the separate criticism that a small dike project in Chiang Mai was named after the name of his wife, Mrs Pongphan, General Preecha maintained that the name was given by the local villagers which had nothing to do with his wife.

He's broken his LONG silence ?

Only a couple of days ago he was quoted as saying he didn't care about what was being said !

Yea ...... but Thaksin ........blah blah blah, anything is better than Thaksin ...blah blah blah.

Hope I have saved the apologists the trouble of posting their usual derailing comments.

Can't touch him

I am sorry I read this story. My BS antennae is now in need of serious repair from the damage caused by heavy overload.

Surprised he never threatened defamation suits. The rest ws all pretty predictable though

totally predictable, a few days ago the BIG  WHITE CHIEF says he aims to stamp out corruption, and then we get this charade. there is no hope for this country. and it is so blatant that is what makes it  so sad, and thay have the gall to say thet have done no wrong.

If I live to be 95 years of age, the P.M's promise to have ended corruption within 20 years will just have taken effect.  Somehow, though, I think his promise has as much value as his views on the happiness of the people and of the country being on the cusp of greatness.

20 years is the time it takes most people to forget the question. And as you get older, you forget what you ate

for breakfast.

I will surprise some TVF members but I don't think he directly put pressure on the people in charge of the procurement.

He did not even need to. Just knowing that the son of such an influent familly in the army is enough for the people in charge of the procurement to think they will be well considered above if he gets the contract and that it may not be bad for their career.

Gen Preecha is up the chain, and his brother too. There is an obvious conflict of interest.

What? Are you not happy here?

Unbelievable!

He probably still doesn't. But that's a problem when you have a big brother who might think differently.

Seems a bit of a trend!

Have you not heard of cronyism, these guys are laughable , no your position had no sway in the awarding of these army contracts 555, go back to school.

:whistling:
