Suicide not a direct cause of DSI detainee’s death in custody: police

BANGKOK: -- FORENSIC EVIDENCE suggests that title-deed suspect Tawatchai Anukul’s death was not a direct result of his attempted suicide while in custody, Bangkok’s Thung Song Hong Police Station superintendent Pol Colonel Mana Pohchuay said yesterday.

 

Mana and attorney Atthaporn Sutthibutr yesterday interviewed Institute of Forensic Medicine head Pornchai Sutheerakhun and the medical team that performed an autopsy on Tawatchai, who died while in Department of Special Investigation (DSI) custody.

Thong Song Hong police chief says someone might have caused Thawatchai’s death

 

 

BANGKOK: -- A police officer charged with investigating the mysterious death of former Phuket land official Thawatchai Anukul said Wednesday that evidences collected so far suggested that the victim’s death could have been caused by someone.

 

Pol Col Mana Porchuey, superintendent of Thung Song Hong police, on Wednesday questioned Pol Maj-Gen Pornchai Suthirakhun, chief of the Police General Hospital’s forensic science institute, for about four hours regarding the suspicious death of Mr Thawatchai who died at the detention room of the Department of Special Investigation.

 

The former Phuket land official who was being investigated by the DSI for illegally issuing several land title deeds for land in Phuket was found dead with his own socks around his neck.

Murkier and murkier.

 

So they have spent 21 day investigating this, but they have not interviewed the director of Mongkutwattana General Hospital nor studied its CCTV footage? Surely if this guy is saying he has proof his ribs weren't broken, nor his liver ruptured, when he was first brought to the hospital, and this contradicts your conclusion thus far, it would be something you'd tick off before going to the press?

What then, a crime of passion by someone resulting in an unintentional death? Was there a hit and run traffic accident in the cell?

There's just no holding these guys back. So the super sleuths have determined he didn't batter his own liver, now comes the tricky part: Was he driving too fast or did someone murder him?

Maybe it was assisted suicide. Someone from outside got lost and somehow entered the detention area of the DSI (I mean there were no working cameras so how could the poor DSI have possibly have known) As this lost person was wondering around lost and confused he heard a "Psssssttt". It was Thawatchai in his cell. He kindly asked the lost stranger if he could assist him in suicide as he was 'solely' guilty of all these crimes. He asked the kind and lost stranger to kick and beat him to death. Maybe rupture his liver, crack a few ribs, and then put his little sock around his neck to make it look like he hanged himself. I mean, he didn't want to get the kind stranger in any kind trouble.

By definition a prison cell is locked (the cell block is also usually locked). So it means the "helping hand" was able to get into a locked space. I wonder what is profession was (or the profession of the one who let him in)? Hmmmmm....let me guess...

Not just any common everyday Burmese. A Burmese Uyghur perhaps who was in the cell next door and picked the locks with his earrings while the guard was taking a leak and then stole the poor man's socks but had to kill him to keep him quiet before he did a runner. Uyghurs are good at escaping from jails as we have recently read.

I have discussed this with the fairies at the bottom of the garden and they all agree with me.

In the end I think it will be blamed on a ghost of another detainee,

that also hug himself with a sock in the same cell, i know i know,

but its not so far fetched as the theories the DSI is putting out,  

a ghost ,well most Thais will think its plausible.

there were dsi personal on duty that night, the cameras were not working so it would appear that someone has been taken care of for this to actually happen, wonder if we will see the "guards" interviewed and charged or if it will be swept under the carpet
