Vanguard for long-term investment
I have both Vanguard and Fidelity. Both through original company 401k matching programs and also private IRA investments. I find the Vanguard website much easier to navigate and handle my buys and sales. Fidelity always leaves me confused how to do things. From Thailand, both allow me to take care of business over VPN. As for opening an account over VPN, I don't know. Best to do that next time you are in the U.S. and have a local phone number available. I used to use my sister's mobile for security code messages, but now have a Google Voice phone number which can receive texts. For Google Voice phone numbers, it must be paired with a U.S. mobile number. I used my sisters, but in the settings menu I disconnected her phone for receiving any calls or messages. -

Crime Indian Tourist Found Dead on Koh Samet with Head Bound in Plastic Bag
This happens often. The Police just want to close the case quickly and avoid difficult, long, extensive expensive investigations. It's just another Indian, and there are more than a billion more. Earlier this month, in Pattaya, an old foreigner is found dead on his bed, in a rented condo, no signs of violence or trauma. They automatically assume heart attack. Body is sent to Bang Lamung hospital for storage, then 10 days later to the police hospital in Bangkok for autopsy. Autopsy confirms heart attack but no toxic substance testing. Autopsy should be performed within 24 hours of death to avoid tissue decay and to get accurate test results, especially toxicological tests. Lots of foreigners get drugged, and perhaps over-drugged, by short time visitors. I have had 3 friends drugged and robbed in Pattaya, all survived to tell the tale. One friend got drugged in Las Vegas, but didn't survive. -

That information does not prove anything except speculation and confirmation bias. Without the data you have no idea the level of research being conducted only that there was funding provided by the US and research of some type was being conducted by the Dr you are implicating. Could it have been a lab leak absolutely, could it have been natural occurrence absolutely. you obviously have decided the direction you are leaning and thats your prerogative. I am reserving judgement.
