Re-entry permit for 30 days single entry tourist visa

Featured Replies

Hello guys,

I need some advice please. Travelling on a Kenyan passport, I got 30 days single entry tourist visa. I will spend 6 days in Thailand, then 2 days in Cambodia and 2 more days in Thailand.

1.) Is it possible to get a re-entry permit for my single entry tourist visa at BKK airport?

(If not, what should I do as the Thai embassy here will not issue me one more single entry or not even a transit visa?)

2.) Do I need to present my boarding pass when I apply for it, or the flight ticket is enough?

Thanks a lot for your help!

1. You can get a re-entry permit to keep then remainder of your 60 day entry valid when your return from your trip.

2.You can get the re-entry permit at a immigration office or at either airport in Bangkok on departure from the country.

At BKK you will need your boarding pass to apply for it and at DMK the desk is after departure immigration.

When you apply for the re-entry permit at the airport, you need to show a boarding pass for a flight that day.

30 day?

People from some countries only get a 30 day entry from a tourist visa. Not sure if Kenya is one of them or not.

My understanding is that those getting 30 days rather than 60 days are exactly the same nationalities that are not eligible for visa exempt entries.

Thanks for the replies. Actually my visa doesn't state for how long it is valid for, I was just assuming 30 days. So it is probably 60 days if that's the standard.

I think you may of read that on on the London embassy website. That is not correct info. There are several countries not on the exempt list that get 60 day entries that I am aware of. Nigeria, China, India, Pakistan, Mexico for example.

I think the number is about what you can count on your fingers.

How long is usually the waiting time? Should I expect a long queue?

It depends upon where you apply for the re-entry permit.

At an airport the line would be short to get one. Just allow an extra half hour after you check in for your flight to get it.
