PNAC urges Labor Ministry to fight corruption

People Network Against Corruption, or PNAC, is urging the Ministry of Labor to quickly eradicate corruption activities in various organizations.

PNAC Secretary-General Veera Somkwamkid met with Labor Minister Abhai Chanthanachulaka to acknowledge the Ministry of Labor’s policies to eliminate corruption and promote public participation. The Ministry of Labor would like the state officials to report signs of corruptions in their agencies to the Assets Examination Committee (AEC). The ministry has assured the informers that there would be no risks for taking such action.

In addition, PNAC said eliminating corruption would considerably lessen the negative images of the ministry. It is also planning to unveil the corruption evidences of the former Labor Minister soon. The network believes that 80 percent of the evidences would be able to arrest the wrongdoers. It is currently compiling the evidences and witnesses as well as revising them.

Mr. Abhai said his ministry is following government policy by working transparently. The ministry is also circulating a document to state officials, urging them to stay away from corruption activities.

He stated that the Labor Ministry is willing to cooperate with the AEC in countering corruption, while requesting the AEC to deliberate the information and documents impartially and truthfully.
