Jazz Players needed for jam sessions

Featured Replies

Hi all. I am an alto sax player (intermediate level, still learning) looking for any musicians interested in meeting for jam sessions. I guess we would need drums, keyboard and bass, but any other players (experienced, advanced, intermediate) would be welcome. I can source a rehearsal space with drums and keyboard, and amp. Just need people to join in for some relaxed fun times. Happy to have a go at standards from Real Books or pretty much anything.

Tuesday night at Northgate bar is jazz jam night. it is a regular saxy honk fest.

Off topic slightly, so apologies to the OP.

Since it is about jazz I was hoping that maybe some of the old Chiang Mai hands might remember what I reckon to have been the first jazz bar in Chiang Mai. It came up in conversation last night and I'm trying to remember it's name. It was originally in Warrorot market, right near the flower market and then moved to Kad Suan Gaew. The owner was/is a well-known Chiang Mai jazz guitarist and Ajarn ,  Teh Intaranan. I'm talking about 20+ years ago.

edit - just remembered The Baritone.
