Marine Safety Helmets - distributors in Thailand?

Featured Replies

Looking for some advice from the offshore or maritime guys here if anyone can assist.

Chasing the Gecko Cut Away safety helmet, or something very similar to source in Thailand or regionally

Its approved to Marine Safety Standard PAS:028 2002

Link here

Anyone know where to best source it?

Thanks, but they're all basic run of the mill hard hats, I could easily get these at Home Pro.

I need specific maritime approved head gear which meets  Marine Safety Standard PAS:028 2002

Try this link and see if you can contact them directly they seem to be maritime based, although the headgear your after is pretty specialized so you may struggle

^^ Didn't realise that homepro could compete with RS on quality, last time I looked they only had crap!

If you had a BS for the helmet that you need would be easier to find alternate as "PAS" are not a standard more of a guide as I understand it, 2002 is quite old also, purely out of interest! what are they "discipline" are they going to be used in, fast boat rescue? anyway good luck........

 Yes you're probably right mate, wouldn't trust a Homepro helmet as far as I could throw it but anyway still appreciate the advice.

Its the client who has specified the standard - If necessary we'll get ex-US or UK but its always good to see if there is a local or regional supplier as these things pop up in subsequent seasons.  Its for a high end luxury Motor Yacht and they have to adhere to strict standards. (talking huge sized vessels, might as well be ships)

Anyway no problems I'll keep digging!  Cheers and enjoy your Friday night!

Thanks Anythingleft? (yes there's a bit left, but its Friday night and I'm guzzling my way through it

Had a look at the site, seems to be the closest chance so we'll call them Monday and see what they have

I had a quick look into this as deal with some standards and had never heard of this PAS, I initially thought it was for abseilers,  as such it is not a standard just an interim recommendation - guess they forgot to update it!

Anyway as per link there are various helmets out there that abide to about 7 different standards, in Theory!! any helmet that came within these standards would suffice and you could??? convince your customer if it was worth the time and effort, probably easier to order, though may be able to get an equivalent in Thailand from link above?
