webfact
Phang Nga meets with tour agents from Europe to prepare for high season PHANG NGA, 11 October 2016 (NNT) – Tourism officials in the southern province of Phang Nga have organized the Mega Fam Trip 2016 to welcome tour operators from Europe, with an aim to promote the province as a leading destination for the coming high season. As part of the Mega Fam Trip 2016, which was held for the second year, the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) and the Phang Nga Tourism Association co-hosted an activity to familiarize leading tour agencies from Europe with Phang Nga province and its tourism potential. Phang Nga Governor Phakaphong Tavipatana gave a welcoming speech to participants, who included representatives from seven European countries, namely Germany, Sweden, France, Russia, Italy, the United Arab Emirates and the Czech Republic. The objective of the annual Mega Fam Trip, which came under the theme “Classic Phang Nga”, is to allow tour agencies to survey tourism products available in the province as well as explore accommodations and new tourist attractions, especially in the Khao Lak area which is well known among foreign visitors, before the high season starts this October 15. According to Ms Raweewan Sangchan, Assistant Director of the TAT Phang Nga Office, Phang Nga has been welcoming a steady flow of European travelers. Between 2012 and 2014, there were more than 600,000 German nationals visiting the province in total, which is considered a large percentage compared to tourists from other countries. Moreover, since 2014, Phang Nga has maintained the title of an up-and-coming destination for French travelers. -- nnt 2016-10-

elgordo38
A great reason to give the beaches a good cleanup something positive anyways. I imagine the zero baht tours will be high on the discussion list. Do they pass out goody bags at these affairs or barf bags.

Actually, the beaches in Phang Nga (namely Khao Lak) are way taken better care off, then most of the rest of the country!
