BANGKOK, 13 October 2016 (NNT) – The Prime Minister has assured France’s business sector that Thailand is stable and ready to continue close relations with the country.

President of the Thailand-France Business Council Francois Corbin has led a visiting delegation of French business operators and employers to pay a courtesy visit on Prime Minister Gen Prayut Chan-ocha with Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs Somkid Jatusripitak also present.

Gen Prayut welcomed the visiting delegation and bid them a good stay before confirming to them that Thailand is stable and ready to build on the 160 year relationship it has maintained with France.

After the meeting, Deputy Spokesperson to the Prime Minister’s Office Lt Gen Weerachon Sukhonthapatipak led the delegation on an observation of the Khlong Padung Krung Kasem market currently being organized by the Ministry of Transport. The group showed keen interest in the products being sold, especially towards the varieties of rice on offer.

lower the tariff on wine

Must be imagination!

France would never do this with a non elected government - just like Britain, Germany, Japan, Australia, Italy, India and the US.

No sir.

Guess all those who post how much other countries won't deal with Thailand now just bury their heads in the sands; or some other dark place.

It's a fair point.

Why do all these people look like they are on holiday ?   Thailand would do well to lower tariffs on wine and cheese.  French investors would do well in staying out of Thailand until after elections.

Private individuals, not a government delegation.

Jeez, even in a boring thread about a meeting with private investors, half of the posts is lame french bashing.
