2006 Motor Expo

Featured Replies

The Thailand International Motor Expo starts today.

There are some pictures here already: bkkautos.com

Is this at Impact Center? Which is near Don Muang airport right?

I always get Impact Center and BITEC confused. I remember one year I ended up at a furniture expo rather than the car and sexy show..

what is the entry cost?

80 Baht.

Or free if you use the voucher from the UBC magazine (it's on the bottom of page 78 in the December issue, kids section).

I've never paid for a motor show in Thailand, and been to about 5 or 6 of 'em. There are always vouchers around. I got some vouchers when I paid my AIS phone bill recently. The wife noticed they had a pad of vouchers behind the counter, and just asked for them.

As well, if you take the expressway make sure you get the little receipt things from them as there is talk that you can get up to 40 baht back at the Expo. (I think they pay for the last exit if you go to the one closest to Impact 20baht x 2.) That's what it says in the bangkok post at any rate.

Did a visit last weekend: a third of the show is new cars (dealers selling), a third is various vendor booths for aftermarket and a third is show vehicles with various mods (sound systems, custom trucks, 4x4's, racing, etc). This is all inside with AC, never checked out the 'outside' booths so can not comment.

Is it worth it, I would say yes, especially if you are in the market for vehicles and related items. Very convenient to have everything in one location for pricing and comparison purposes, sure beats trying to shop and dealing with Bkk traffic.

I've heard that there's been quite an uproar about the bikini clad models at one Italian car manufacturers stand...
