Hi i have just received a single entry visa for a 90 day stay in Thailand from the Hull consolute in England, will i be able to extend this for another 90 days when my original 90 days expires as i had planned to stay for 180 days same as last year but the rules have been changed this time.

I had already booked my return flight to manchester for April 2017 (180 days).

I am a touring pensioner 70 yrs old.

Thanks please advise.

You only get a 60 day entry from a tourist visa that can be extended for 30 days at an immigration office.

You will have to leave the country the end of the entry and extension to get another single entry tourist visa.

Thank you obanjoe that means in your reply i can do a border run for a 60 day extension after my 90 day has expired & then another border run for a 30 day extension after the 60 day has expired?? meaning 2 border runs to take me up to my pre-booked flight date in April 2017 total of 180 day stay.

Because of all the border runs etc etc it maybe make me overstay by 2 or 3 days ? will that be a problem for me at the airport for my return flight?? all this extra border runs will save me from paying to change my return flight to the U.K.

Thanks.

What kind of visa do you have. It seems it may be a single entry non-o visa not a tourist visa if it allows a 90 day entry. I suspect you may of been able to get a multiple entry visa before. If over 65 and getting a state pension you can still get a multiple entry non-o from the embassy in London.

If married to a Thai you could get a 60 day extension to visit her.

You best option may be to go out for a single entry tourist visa that will allow a 60 day entry that can be extended for 30 days.

Hi again. I was told the rules for the 12 month multiple entry non-imm O visa changed on 16th Sept this year & that they are no longer available, that is the visa that i have been travelling with for my 6 months stay on previous occasions.

The Thai consolate in Hull U.k said to get a single entry for 90 days & maybe apply to extend for a further 90 days when i am in Thailand.

I am a 70 yr old with a state pension & i am not married to a Thai lady or anyone.

I am just hoping i can extend the single entry 90 day visa by another 90 days as i already pre-booked my return flight for 180 days stay in Thailand before i knew the 12 month multiple entry non-immigrant O visa's are no longer available.

Thanks

If you have a single entry Non "O" visa which provides a 90 day stay it is not expendable.

If you wish to stay longer you will have to obtain a single entry tourist visa from a Thai Embassy in a nearby country.

The only extension that you can get for a non-o visa entry is 7 days or one year based upon retirement if you can meet the financial requirements.

I think Hull gave you incorrect information. They can no longer issue multiple entry visas but the embassy can still issue them.
