Based on all the posts here recently about how good the IM5 is, I started looking into the IM6, as I want a premium mid size long-range SUV (all are around 1.6M Baht). Two days ago, I test drove the Tesla Model Y L, was very impressed, but when I add up the price and insurance costs, (though it is a 6-seater) t seems way, way overpriced compared to the Chinese offerings (When you add color prices, and other stuff it comes out to 2.3m (700k more expensive at purchase) + 10 years of insurance 40k/yr more it comes out about 1.1M more expensive over 10 years. Zeekr 7x is good, but some reviews out of Australia and in Thailand of actual owners has been less than stellar. And, to top if off, Electric Viking test drove the IM6 for 1,000 kms and yesterday posted a video where he says the IM6 is better and he openly offered to swap straight across his 7x for anyone who had an IM6. So, yesterday I test drove the IM6 and it was indeed impressive. I am interested in the long range model. Honestly, it drove somewhat like a Benz, and did indeed feel better than the Zeekr and anything else I've tested in that price range. However, I am not crazy about the design, and then as I viewed more Thai reviewers youtubes in China there is a minor change model out a couple months ago in China that resolves all the design issues I had. It's great. So, I will wait for the December motor show in Bangkok and hope they have this updated version then.
