BANGKOK: -- The National Legislative Assembly has passed a bill designed to strike at financial support for terrorism and proliferation of weapons of mass destruction.

198 assemblymen voted in support of the bill which is in line with the guidelines set by the UN Security Council to counter terrorism and to prevent the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction.

Unless this law can be used against the military, it will hardly change the dynamics of terrorism in Thailand.

They can amend that bill the the holiday traffic safety bill, because we all know how effective those are.

Thanks for nothing. So what are the main provisions of the Bill - or are they so controversial that the public can't be told?

Sadly for years I have watched governments pass this and pass that mostly just passing wind. Great press for today but tomorrow lets have the enforcement part but that is ALWAYS sadly lacking. They beat their chests and then steal off like the morning mist on the moors.

Another bill with more loop holes than the election. Endless spending and misplaced data and money. That's the bill.

More hot air and BS to make things look and sound good ?

Isn't all necessary power to enforce everything and anything enshrined in Art 44 which trumps any other item of legislation ?
