BANGKOK: -- The broadcasting board of the National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission is to meet on Monday to consider whether it should revoke the operating license of CTH cable TV company whose operations were already suspended by the board for 30 days.

Ms Supinya Klangnarong, a member of the board, said over the weekend that the cable TV operators had not complied with the board’s order to refund its clients for the suspension of its services.

The company, she added, is yet to submit its report about the financial compensation for its clients and relevant information to the broadcasting board.

The rise and fall of CTH cable TV. Premiership football to Mickey mouse.

CTH are simply treating the NBTC the same way they did their customers - ignoring any communication. How about not only removing their now worthless license but jailing the owners until they pay what is owed.

My wife is still waiting for her refund on a returned set top box deposit.  CTH is history.

CTH reportedly has a massive losses of almost 20 billion baht. [20] Wiki.

Jailing the owners now your moving up the money chain. Pretty soon the NBTC will bump heads with the owners and if they are rich (they must be by the way the operate) things could change. Another "Ride off into the sunset" issue.

The Premier League should be on the hook for enabling CTH to perpetuate this scam in Thailand.  All along, the BPL knew CTH was going to fold, but the few extra pounds of revenues from duped CTH subscribers in Thailand made it all worthwhile to their board of directors.

The three-season deal was put out to tender. CTH won the bid so got the contract over an arrogant TrueVisions who probably thought they were a shoo-in. The PL have no interest at all in how reliable CTH or anyone else is. They just accept who pays the most and aren't interested in surveying the company for suitability.

Now that fiasco is over with, although the CTH coverage was brilliant, we now have True back and at an unbelievable price. We were all expecting to have to buy a premium package, but no. I have no idea why True are being so generous. I guess they expect to get more customers if the price is low.

I agree...

Surely they should look at any business they grant a licence to is financially stable and has good business ethics.

If it was the NBTC that suspended that suspended CTH's operations, shouldn't the NBTC be responsible for the financial compensation?

Again it is the EPL.

As to your claim the EPL knew cth was going to fold...where is the evidence for this?

If CTH was stupid enough to bid more than it could afford that is on them and no one else.

I had my doubts about the company and therefore did not subscribe.

Plenty of on line options out there.

**** the cable companies, they are all equally useless.

The stupid thing is that they could have made money out of it.

Truly inept management, and they simply did not think it through.

Money collected from the end user must have disappeared all over the food chain. And that's if they even remembered to actually bill them!

:cheesy:
