Returned from up North to look at the dok mai for a couple of days to not find one of our cats at the house. Anyone in the Sai Yuan area come across a Big Black cat with a small white bib and longish shiny hair - face looks as though it's been hit with a shovel and distinctive LOUD miaow, please PM me, other half's devastated. Thanks.

Have you tried the cat farm up one of the Soi's heading out towards Chalong on the right. I don't know if they collect local strays but they do have a lot of cats.

One of my cats fit this description and funnily enough he returned last night after being missing for a week! Was I relieved!

He has been neutered and is a very homely cat so it was unusual for him to disapear. Hopefully your cat has just gon by tio for a few days. Think it might have something to do with the nicer weather now after being cooped up during the low season.

Good luck!

Thankyou both for your replies - have been paying daily visits to former house in chalong, from which we moved three months ago, long enough I would have thought for him to get used to idea of new area, also two other cats still in situ. So doubt it's same cat sharing your house. Am loathe to go to any home for strays yet, as am bound to take one home, sucker for strays, which our dog and remaining two cats are. Still. Am heartened by news of cat returning after one week. Time yet. Though keep getting gloomy remarks about Burmese workers spit roasting him from other half. Pointed out wouldn't make much of a meal - all fur and miaow. Failing return, maybe I could come and have a decko at your cat and maybe borrow him for an hour or two every so often to reassure other half has not been Burmese supper. Thanks again.
