I've never seen her at the mall. I don't go every day but do go regularly. Never heard of any instances of her helping people before entering politics. maybe because she was relatively unknown before being announced as No.1 party list candidate. She was seen as a bright, new face, young and possibly untainted by old stigmas. But that opinion has changed in many of the people I know. Point is that she did help farmers. And people got rice for a good price; or it would not have sold out in 50 minutes.

PR stunt maybe. But she is a smart lady.  Government now will have the same problem as her government. Rice brought in from other countries, and sold as Thai Rice; paying more then the world rice price ; and rice being stockpiled for years.

Where was she when the farmers marched from Isan to Government House and she was to busy to talk to them, oh yes she didn't have the big fine hanging over her head then did she.

 I'm really happy that she has resolved all of the ongoing problems with the rice. Not bad for an afternoons work!!

Evidently it really is affecting your life, (even if you do cloak it in sarcasm) judging by your comments on this thread. Were your adversary reading them, she would probably be delighted by your reaction.

Yes the Donald knows which buttons to push to get the desired results. He may yet gain the presidency if he can marshal all the people from the swamps and back road gas stations to march forward and vote. The ones that constantly tune into Radio Trump. He's in admin and posted the article from PBS which contained Yingluck's quotes.

"Ms Yingluck told the media that she bought the rice from the farmers in order to help ease their hardship"

 

This just shows how inept and corrupt she was as a leader. She had a perfect opportunity to alleviate farmers hardship as PM, yet instead lined the pockets of everyone, BUT the poorest of farmers. The frames subsequently are still in hardship (the poorest were never out of it) so now she sells rice to alleviate their hardship. 

 

No idea. A puppet without strings attached.

The beauty of it is that the junta and its supporters such as Warong cannot just shut their mouth, and so cannot help but add more hollow to this PR event. 

A free PR event that gets more free publicity from her opponents. :)

Wow what a saleswoman,,, well this Just goes to show what she cost the farmers during her term as prime minister and as the "absent" chairman,,, imagine how much rice she could've sold if she'd concentrated on doing her job and hadn't spent so much time on shopping trips,,, this to me only strengthens a case for dereliction of duty,,, on the other hand they could give her a job in rice sales as her stint as PM really didn't work at all

And how is this helping the farmers? She bought the rice for 5 bath/kg?

Prices for buying rice of farmers are low, i red, as i said 5 bath/kg and now she is selling it for

20 bath/kg in BK. 

Asked my gf , how much is hom mali rice. She said 20-30 depending on grade.

So with 10 tons of rice , she made good profit !

I dont understand this article then for doing good to rice farmers?

You should buy it at then for 20 and then sell it for 20, no profit,

even loss as in production and transportation. Then you are good.
