EU satisfied with Thailand's solutions to human trafficking

BANGKOK, 9 November 2016 (NNT) - The European Union has commended Thailand for its solutions to human trafficking, especially the solutions on reintegration of human trafficking victims back to the society.

Permanent Secretary for Social Development and Human Trafficking Maitri Inthusut and EU representative Luisa Ragher presided over a meeting to exchange knowledge and experience on reintegration of human trafficking victims. The meeting was part of the Migration EU eXpertise (MIEUX) project which is an academic collaboration between Thailand and the EU to protect people affected by human trafficking.

Mr. Maitri said the meeting discussed how to prepare the victims physically and mentally before and after their reintegration. Networking between Thailand and the EU and guidelines for the reintegration were also discussed by the delegates, said the official.

The EU representative praised the Thai government for its work to prevent and solve the problem. She expressed her confidence that the meeting would further enhance cooperation between the two parties to combat human trafficking in the future.

The Thais don't release any quote from the EU rep. Wonder what she really thinks.

Says Thailand

Called it.

(Not that it was hard to predict...)

MiEUX is an NGO that is financed by the EU it is not an EU official body. Its role is in the main is systems development.

so I fail to see how the claim the the "EU is satisfied" can be made?

But hey-ho, whatever makes you happy.

Is this a reference to the 100 or so Uighur "reintegrated" back to China?
