That is spectatcular. Got to wonder the vision, the dreams, the effort and money that goes into places like this and then it gets abandoned. If only we could know the full story. Shame to see it abandoned. Thanks for capturing these images and bringing them here. Where is it Samui? Phuket?

Some of the abandoned vehicles were apparently used for road construction on Koh Phaluai (a small island near Samui) and then simply left behind.

It is funny that the logo on the side of the green pickup is that of the Public Health & Environment Department.

These vehicles look more roadworthy than some of the vehicles driving on our roads.

This was intended to be a World War II history park. However, the large building is already badly damaged and is inhabited by monkeys.

That is properly huge - where is it? I wonder if it went under during the 97/98 financial crash? Looks a lot newer than that though.

The large building in the previous post isn't very old; I'd estimate a maximum of 10 years.

And here a big villa complex. Some of them was already finish.

There was apparently no permit.

A wonderful place in the evening an early morning.

Many abandoned places were suddenly completed due to rising property prices. However, nothing is happening with these nine buildings, which slumber on the outskirts of town and not far from the beach.

A valley in a lovely nature with some luxury villas and facilities, but a few buildings lost.

All illegally constructed large facilities could only be built through corruption. This usually works as follows: one or more contacts (friends or relatives) in high positions are willing to issue the necessary documents in exchange for money.

Yes but I thought the one you posted above was built specifically for government employees

on a mountain side that should have been national park land

there was a big hoo haa about it a couple of years ago.

This collapsed concrete bridge was vital for the residents in the mountains, particularly during the monsoon season. Yet, even after its collapse, they quickly found a way to help themselves and built a floating bridge.

A very old Hino truck. i like this old trucks.

Got one in our back garden.....still no idea what the wife was building.
