Vigil for the King next Sat

Next week, Saturday 19th 6PM there will be a candle lit vigil for the late king along beach, closing it of traffic from north to south and 2nd road at Central

It's one of those where they get a mass of people and take a photo for the papers the next day

 

The organizers have made arrangements for parking around and out of town parking and shuttle bus service.. and even free transport from Bangkok bud judging by how well publicize this 'event' is like I'm only finding out about it now is not hopeful. So join in or avoid as appropriate

 

Looks like the event is spearheaded by the hotelier association, with city hall taking a back seat, interesting note is that they say during the event the bay will be lined with thousands of speedboat(that was just evicted from Bali Hai?)

Thanks for the information, I am sure my wife will want to go. Probably the only time she will encourage me to go to beach Rd after dark.
