Michaelaway
There are a couple of small hardware stores on Thepprasit; they might have it. Of not, maybe you could use nail polish remover.

Nail polish remover contains glycerin and other oily stuff which makes it useless for my use. Cheers :)
Don Mega
I buy from a small hardware store in Naklua, they primarily supply the boat industry. Look around your area for the same, typically anywhere selling fiberglass resin will have acetone.
longball53098
I cannot say where to buy in Pattaya but here in Ban Chang on Suk is a chemical supply shop and he sells pure acetone in any amount I may want. So my recommendation is to look for a shop in the area that is a local distributor for chemical and cleaning supplies.

Eagleizer
Thanks for your help guys! I sent my girlfriend out to buy some. (It was for her anyway) No luck at Friendship, but she got some in Naklua that was diluted with water. The seller there told her everybody was diluting it, which I don`t believe. The bottle was also leaking a lot because of wrong cap :p. 5 "Lippo"-bottles with orange warning tape solved that problem :) I`ll try some of the other suggested places later on. For now it`s kind of working, it just takes a bit of extra time to let the water dry out. Cheers :)
The manic
Is it legal or is it not classified as a precursor chemical used in illegal drug production?
peeba7
In the states it is sold as 'rush' or locker room.' I think it is used as a poor man's amly nitrate to stimulate the heart.
Stardust314
I think you make a mistake or you got misinformed. You'll need sodium hydroxide or potassium hydroxide commonly known as lye.. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Piranha_solution However this combination is is the best. For a modest bribe in small chemical shops in naklua or bkk you'll get everything.
morrobay
All paint/hardware sell laquore thinner = acetone. Look for AAA label
longball53098
Acetone is a single pure substance, lacquer thinner is a mix of acetone and other similar chemicals (ketones), some of which evaporate more slowly. Think of acetone as salt, lacquer thinner as seasoned salt.
morrobay
Ok its a mixture and acetone is a ketone. Never stated what the purpose is for ^ but as a solvent, lacquer thinner will cut anything. Super glue, epoxy resins . hydrocarbons. BTW ive had organic too Edited November 25, 2016 by morrobay

Try again: this one is from there... ingredient : Acetone Edit: let the water dry out of your diluted solution !? Distillation maybe better ? mran66
was shopping for groceries today and checked if indeed they discontinued acetone at friendship - seems still there, 50bt for 450ml and 18bt for 100ml bottle. Bought this before and worked well for all cleaning...be careful it easily damages the surface under the stain so it probably is real acetone. At least says acetone and smells like it. Right under the toothbrushes, on alley opposite where butter/margarine is placed. ...But where to find Oxalic acid...in some other towns seems to be available in stores selling chemicals - anybody know of such general chemical store in Pattaya area? According to my GF, this is for nails, which normally means it have Glycerol. She did see this when she went to Friendship, but the sticker only says that it contains Acetone, so probably not 100% as it would not be good for nails otherwise. We have for nails already, and it certainly smells like Acetone, but when it dries out on a polished surface of metal, you can clearly see the oil/fat. 100% Acetone would disappear completely. Nail polish remover works fine if you just want to remove stuff from a surface. If you want to glue or paint on that surface afterwards, not so good... You can do a second cleaning with alcohol, but it`s time consuming and expensive. 100% Acetone is what I`m looking for, and I will check out the other suggestions when it`s time for a refill. Cheers :) Edited November 30, 2016 by Eagleizer
