Nonthaburi hosts event on stopping domestic violence

NONTHABURI, 15 November 2016 (NNT) - Nonthaburi province has organized its annual event to raise awareness for domestic violence.

The event was held to exchange views on how to protect and assist victims and raise awareness on the effects of the internet and inappropriate sexual solicitation.

It also explained the implications of the 2007 Domestic Violence Victim Protection Act, in order for participants to understand how their rights are protected under law and the mechanisms in place to protect victims of domestic violence.

All those Bt500 fines are real deterrents...

Nothing like an annual domestic violence event to sort out daily domestic violence. Still, better than nothing I suppose.

"Inappropriate sexual solicitation". Presumably they are referring to the likes of the whores who gather along Sukhumvit Soi's 5 - 11 footpaths 24/7 pestering passers by.

But is this just one of those events with a cleverly worded slogan, that nobody really understands any deeper than that.

Is domestic violence bad? - Yes.

Why? - 'Cos it's bad.

But why? - You think too much.

I heard that they had men wrestling bears, for practice.

As seen in every lakorn, every night

You ain't gonna stop Thai men beating up their wives ,it makes them feel like a proper man

Do they first practice on their mothers and grandmother's?

Come of TAT!!! I'm sure lots of people would pay more that 500b for the opportunity to kick the shit out of an innocent woman. That plus the film rights and this country could easily surpass 40m visits a year.

If Nontaburi is a success, can I recommend the other 75 provinces follow the example.
