PM content with Agriculture Min’s work

BANGKOK, 17 November 2016 (NNT) – The Prime Minister has paid a visit to the Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives and expressed his satisfaction with the ministry’s operations, particularly its assistance of rice farmers.

Upon his arrival, Prime Minister Gen Prayut Chan-o-cha was greeted by Agriculture and Cooperatives Minister Gen Chatchai Sarikulya and other executives of the ministry. The premier’s visit was aimed to follow up on the ministry’s undertakings and to hear its performance report.

Following his meeting with the officials, Gen Prayut voiced his satisfaction with the ministry’s work, which he said was in line with the 20-year national development strategy. He also thanked both the ministry and consumers for helping rice farmers amidst the price drop.

The premier then used the opportunity to express his wish to see more connectivity between cooperatives and communities in each area. In addition, he advised farmers to adhere to His Majesty the King’s sufficiency economy philosophy and to seek new methods to boost productivity while reducing their cultivation area.
