If it helps to curb the southern terrorists and in any way stops or hinders the flow of ill intentioned people and materials used by them, I'd say, do it.

Even if Malaysia don't pay.

the Southern terrorists are already North of where the wall would run...

I can't see how they could construct a wall or a fence for that matter. Most of the border transverses mountainous countryside and rain forests with no roads or any means of ferrying materials to the construction team.

maybe he is connected to a company that wants to foist an electronic fence on the tax payers like  boeing did  in America some time ago

( cost billions and was sold for scrap  soon after)

Oh yes they will pay for it just cut the almost $100,000,000 dollars given to them inarrow-10x10.png foreign aid each year.   It's like money in the bank.   Personally I think the whole thing would be cheaper and more effective witharrow-10x10.png 24/7 armed drones.  Think about it...:passifier:

It  is  not   "aid"  money. It  is   sweetener  money. China  has a  great wall  for   few  years  already  but they  get a  few  bucks  too !  555

" Defense Minister Prawit Wongsuwan, (AKA D. Trump?) who said he got the idea from a recent meeting in Laos with his Malaysian counterparts."

Would not have got the idea from Donald Trump? Or not admit to it? A problem when you are a big fish in a small pond, you do not seem to know what is going on in the worlds oceans!

See my post #31

Not an original idea , both Trump and Prawit are copying the idea hatched by Nikita Khrushchev and  Walter Ulbricht in 1961.  Their wall came down on 9 November 1989.  I wonder if they both will be using the same plans with a double wall separated with mine fields  and guard towers.  They will also need screeching music 24/7 not as a deterrent, but to keep the Thai guards awake!

Humpty Trumpty sat on the wall and Prawit will build it all.

Go and get 'em, Rambo.

Politicians seem to like promising fences. I wonder what happened to Bush's fence?  On October 26, 2006, U.S. President George W. Bush signed the Secure Fence Act of 2006 into law stating, “This bill will help protect the American people. This bill will make our borders more secure. It is an important step toward immigration reform."

Ok chaps, in ten years time when the wall is built, someone will have to work out how to prevent people entering Thailand via the sea.

Last time I looked at a Thai/Malasia map it it had seas, on either side of both countries.

Ah. maybe the submarines!

If they cut a canal between Thailand and Malaysia wouldn't Malaysia and Singapore float away and eventually crash in to Australia?

What a silly idea - surely Indonesia would be in the way?

Just get him some Lego blocks....that should keep him occupied for a while!

Maybe Prayut can copy the Chinese design and then use it as a tourist attraction: "The Great Wall of Thailand".

I think the ice cream manufacturer has shown an interest in building the Great Walls of Thailand  (sorry!)

Don't be sorry, it was rather good!
:):)

So a canal on one side and a wall on the other........ Isn't that just the sort of thing the separatists are looking for?

If there's one page they could take from Donald Chumps book.......try draining the swamp in Bkk!

I know another numpty who has the same idea. He's now changed it from wall to fence. Oh, and their neighbours aren't going to pay for it. Well, why would they?

... in parts. Believe the idea was to tax 'US Mexicans' sending money home.

Trump did promote the idea of blocking all remittances sent to Mexico via nonbank wire transfers such as Western Union and MoneyGram International. Under current laws customers are not required to provide identification and their immigration status for such transfers.

Any amendment is likely to apply to all customers regardless of nationality in order to be constitutional.
