Last night my wife and I had dinner at the buffet restaurant in the Plaza Athenee hotel on Wireless Road. The lobby floor restaurant is named "Raintree".

It is a very attractive room and the foods are well displayed. Any grilled meat that you order is brought directly to your table; the rest of the foods are taken buffet style. The array of starters is deep (including sushi and sashimi) and it even includes black and red caviar. The main courses are both western and Thai. The cheese selection is very good....the desserts looked great.

The price is 1200b per person.

Looks very good!

Not to expensive for such a place and choices you've mentioned.

I think you will like it. In the past I have pretty much limited our buffet rounds to the river hotels (Oriental, Peninsula, Shangri-La, Sheraton, Mariott et al). Our trip to the Plaza Athenee was a pleasant one. Next I want to try Conrad and All Seasons. We bought a condo on the Athenee Residence which will be completed in about a year...so we are now interested in neighborhood restaurants.
