Cash aid only temporary measure: Govt spokesman

BANGKOK, 24 November 2016 (NNT) – The government's cash aid for low-income earners is only a temporary measure to be implemented in parallel with long-term ones to boost their spendings without increasing their debts.

Government spokesman Lt Gen Sansern Kaewkamnerd said the government will provide 3,000 baht in cash to each low-income earner who may make less than 30,000 baht in annual income and 1,500 baht in cash for those with 30,000-100,000 baht in annual income.

He said the cash aid will be implemented alongside long-term measures to revamp the entire economic system while other measures which are yet to be implemented at a later date include an investment plan and taxation review.

The government has aimed to improve the economy in bid to reach a satisfactory stage by implementing such measures including those in favor of farmers, he said.

The government spokesman said the cash aid is merely a once-and-for-all measure designed to boost domestic spendings without increasing the recipients' debt burdens and no cash will be by no means handed out on monthly basis.

He said the government is encouraging persons with low-income to register themselves to ensure their entitlement to other benefits such as free train and bus rides.

"Spreading 'wealth'" NEVER works over the long-haul! Not in any country… Name one country where it has worked over 60 years and the country has managed to survive on oh's own?! Not the UK nor any other! … NOT EVEN the USSR!
