Cargill invests $50 million to expand poultry processing operations in Thailand

KORAT: -- Cargill is investing US$50 million to expand its poultry processing operations at its facility located in the Nakhon Ratchasima province in Thailand, and thus creating 1,400 new jobs, the company announced Thursday.

In its press release, the new jobs will add to the more than 13,500 employees that the company currently employs across 14 locations in Thailand.

The statement said Cargill will engage several independent smallholder broiler farms in the local community to meet the increase demand in broiler chicken.

The really big players in the poultry business. They are so big that one might think they dabble in Monkey business as well.

In North America especially in the USA and Canada Cargill is involved with beef slaughtering and pigs as well I did haul raw product for them and they are very well managed.

Cargill also by grain bin from farmers in Saskatchewan so they are taking full control of the food chain or part of it.

More chicken nuggets for McDonalds then...

There's a fortune to be made from the water alone they pump into the chickens. Like 150 baht per kilo and more. Water in a bottle is cheap compared to water pumped into food products like chicken and bacon etc.

Buy bacon at Foodland or any other Thai supermarket and put it in the pan and see how much water comes out of it before it begins to fry properly.

There are rogues galore within the Thai food industry.

Your getting a lot of sizzle for your bahts?? You better wear safety glasses when frying.

Cargill operates in over 60 countries and 65 different industries. Beyond food, includes steel mills, transportation, finance. Sales last year worldwide was over US$120 BILLION. Their Saskatchewan business is less than 1% of their business interests.

Buy a block of bacon in Foodland and loads of water already drips out if you open the (double) plastic packaging.
