A top Chiang Mai policeman has denied he is involved in the bar at the center of the beating of a general's son on Friday.

Sathitchai Nitayawon says he had nothing to do with the bar and doesn't know the celebrity who is also pivotal in the case that is gripping the Thai news.

Sathitchai, of the Chang Pheuak force, under whose jurisdiction the Malin Sky bar is located, was shown featured in pictures that claimed to incriminate him that were posted on Facebook.

But Sathitchai said that the snaps were taken last year during a human trafficking raid. He said that he suspects they were posted in revenge by someone who was arrested at the time.

He denied any involvement with the bar - that has been shut - or even knowing Ball (Kritsana) one of the celebrities involved in the case.

He may pursue a defamation case against the poster of the picture that has damaged his reputation, he said.

On Friday Issarachanuwat Wankawisan, a fourth year business student at Payap Univeristy and son of 38th Army major general Withaya Wankawisan, was beaten up and severely injured by guards outside some toilets at the bar.

He was trying to get inside when a group of celebrities and hi-sos were said to be in the restroom with guards barring the way. He suffered a broken nose, broken teeth, a fractured jaw and has problems with an eye.

A hotel rumored to be owned by Ball was raided earlier this week for not having a license as the ramifications from the case spread throughout Chiang Mai.

And yet this policeman has been transferred out already.

After Ball went to the police station to respond to the police summons to help in investigations, the courts have issued a warrant of arrest while he was in police custody today and has been denied bail.

Yes in due time, suckers always pay. These people who think they can get away with stuff because of imaginary reasons like being a celebrity etc. Then when the sh@! hits the fan, they run around like ants.

It's always amusing to watch.

CHIANG MAI: -- Chiang Mai provincial court has issued warrants for the arrest of four suspects allegedly involved in the assault of the son of an army general in Chiang Mai as requested by the police.

One of the four suspects was identified as Krisana “Ball” Amitrasoon, owner of the Marlin Sky pub where the brawl took place and boyfriend of actress Ms Lakhana “Oom” Watthanawongsiri.

The victim Isararatnuwat “James Bond” Wakkawisan, son of Maj-Gen Witthaya, commander of the 38th army circle in Nan province

Krisana reported himself to the Chiang Mai provincial police headquarter on Tuesday and was questioned by police initially as a witness to the alleged beating up of Isararatnuwat “James Bond” Wakkawisan, son of Maj-Gen Witthaya, commander of the 38th army circle in Nan province.

The three other suspects are Mr Thanundorn Munsawaeng, Mr Adisak Pengleng and Mr Apiwat na Lamphun. All were charged with assault before they were set free by the police on ground that they have no intention to escape.

The victim, James Bond, is being hospitalized at Lanna hospital although his condition has improved. His family said that they would press for legal action against Ball for being the alleged mastermind of the assault of the victim.

What a heartless statement, the young man was taken to the hospital with very severe injuries.

Agreed. I don't even think the son would need to cry to daddy. Any father in his right mind would be extremely pissed off if his son was hurt like this and would try to do something about it.

The only sad thing (as pointed out by other posters) is that if this was your average Joe, the police would have not done anything and pocketed the change.

Hot d*mn being a lawyer must really be a lucrative profession in Thailand. Can one represent both sides in a case and loose for the poorer client and win for the richer. I will see your law suit and raise you one.

if u went to the facebook of James Bond, you would see that he is a very well brought up young man and has never brag about his dad to anyone that even his classmates do not know his father is a Major General in charge of the 38th Army circle in Nan.

good that the police is doing their job in a case of gang assault

would be really nice if  they decide to make this the standard procedure in every such case, no matter who  the victim is

God forbid that happens.  they probably couldn't handle the workload
