Over a million mourners have paid respect to beloved late King in front of royal urn

BANGKOK: -- The Bureau of the Royal Household announced today that over one million mourners have been allowed to the Dusit Maha Prasat Throne Hall inside the Grand Palace to pay respect to the beloved late King Bhumibol Adulyadej in front of the royal urn.

 

It said the latest number of mourners counted at 10.10pm Monday night was 1,043,546 in 31 days after the passing of His Majesty.

 

In a single day count Monday ended at 10.10pm, one hour after the normal closing at 9.00pm, the number of mourners broke all previous records with 48,384 coming to pay respect in one day.

 

Total donations by mourners now stand at 79.46 million baht.

PHUKET: -- The warning came yesterday, when Phuket Provincial Police Commander Maj Gen Teeraphol Thipjaroen revealed that Phuket was the worst province in the Southern Thailand – and second-worst in the country – for motorbike riders not wearing helmets.

BANGKOK: -- Kids driving motorcycles and scooters around Bangkok are so prevalent that The Child Safety Promotion and Injury Prevention Research Center has decided to create an anti-youth-motorcycling initiative designed to save lives and keep those younger than 15 years old from driving massive motorcycles on Bangkok’s dangerous and congested roadways.
