WP expired , when i will be out of thailand...

Featured Replies

Hi eveybody,

My WP will expired when i will be outside of Thailand...by the way i didn t want to renew it!!!

In this case when i will come back to Thailand by plane...

Is the immigration at the airport will stamp my passport as a tourist...or are they going to ask me questions or making problems with my WP???

Thank You for all your answers....

Hi

You should look at your visa. If your work permit was linked to your business visa, with annual extension at Immigration, so yes, you lost both and will come back as a tourist. If it was linked to O Visa, you still have it. It's the VISA which is important when you enter the country, not the work permit.

Phil.

I would have thought the immigration officer just checks are you arriving with a current and valid visa or with no visa and that's all.

Why not cancel the WP before you leave the country ?

Moved to this forum for better exposure.

Immigration is only concerned with your visa, no need to cancel your work permit, hand it in etc. I have a pile of about 5 old ones at home.

Immigration has no interest in work permits.

You can enter as a tourist unless you have a valid re-entry permit obtained for an extension of stay based upon working.
