BANGKOK: -- The Royal Thai Police today have given Phra Dhammachayo until midnight to turn himself in to the police to acknowledge charges for the misappropriation of funds of the Klongchan Credit Union Cooperative.

Today is the deadline set by the police for the controversial former abbot of Wat Dhammakaya to turn himself in to the police.

Royal Thai Police deputy commissioner Pol Gen Srivara Rangsipramanakul said today that the police would give him until midnight to give up.

If he still refuses to do so, the police will take further step in accordance with the law to enforce the law, he said.

He said the police will take legal action against the acting abbot of the temple, for charge that he allows the temple as a shelter for the suspect.

He said Phra Dhammachayo is now a suspect because warrant has been issued by the court for his arrest.

Phra Dhammachayo is also facing a warrant to turn himself in to the Natural Resources and Environment Suppression Division police by December 2 for trespassing forest area at Khao Yai national park in building the so-called Green Peace Valley Buddhism practitioning centre.

Ooooooh! This monk is in deep deep trouble. The police are very slowly going to get you. One day, mark my words. We don't know when, but they are coming for you. Be scared. One day they will get you. We don't know when, but one day for sure.

So this is the long calculated and much anticipated "plan' by the Gov't authorities including DSI for today (Wed).

Wow now these same folks will not lose face when he refuses to comply. "It was all his fault for not surrendering." And I reckon he WILL NOT comply.

And yesterday the authorities were not sure if he was even in his temple. Thus their demand to to other senior monks to effect his surrender.

Really a joke as how these bafoons can even be referred to as a police force.

I also reckon that he is so well connected from "above" that he will never face the music.

He's had plenty time arrange his game plan, move funds and move country if he so wishes, even without good connection chances of him seeing a court room are slim unless he wants to . Is a mess and does nothing for thai buddhism or thai international image whatsoever :-/
