Orthopaedic foot treatment required

Featured Replies

Hi

I following a fall yesterday  require diagnosis and treatment for a foot injury . Searching the old  Chiang Mai threads i have tried to contact  Dr Tanawat Vaseeon at the Faculty of medicine the number DELETED without success . Can anyone provide more recent information for me  or perhaps  suggest  a suitable specialist in Chaing Mai .

thanks

Visit Bangkok Hospital Chiang Mai. It is a well-equipped hospital. Most doctors work or are from CMU.

Get well soon!

Sprains are often worse than fractures.  The Red Cross teaches RICE...rest, ice, compression, elevation....the worst foot injury I had didn't swell for several days...popped an Achilles sliding into second base...it still healed without surgery.  X-rays don't show much unless there is a broken bone.  A number of Hospitals will take an x-ray, give you an overpriced ace-bandage, and pair of crutches...likely about 2500 THB.  If you fell on a grenade; you might get some opiates, otherwise Tramadol is sold at many pharmacies for 35 thb for 10, and is a lot easier on my tummy than the Paracetamol they prescribe like a parrot.
