90 Day Reporting Question: Seasonal Living

Featured Replies

Greetings,

I will be switching to a retirement-based extension of stay from a work-based one in a couple of months. Up to this point, my employer has been doing the 90 day reporting for me, so I will have to figure out what is easier - reporting in person or trying to make the online reporting system work. Any suggestions from more experienced expats?

When I switch into retirement mode, I plan to stay in Phuket/Khao Lak 4 months out of the year during rainy season (hotels/guest houses) and Bangkok 8 months out of the year (Apartment with Thai wife)

I'm trying to figure out how this would impact the logistics of 90 day reporting. Does anyone have any suggestions? Cheers...

You can only do 90 day reports to the office where you applied for your extension of stay.

You can do your 90 day reports in person, by mail or online. Info for online reporting can be found in the pinned topic about it. If reporting to Bangkok immigration you can find the info for mailed in reports here. http://bangkok.immigration.go.th/en/base.php?page=90days

Greetings Ubonjoe, so  if I'm staying at a guest house at Kamala Beach (new address) when it's reporting time, should I report that temporary address, or just use my Bangkok address where I reside 8 months out of the year?

You will use your Bangkok address when doing the 90 day reports since that is your permanent address.

Thanks for the clarification. The key phrase is "permanent residence." I could also have my wife do the 90 day reporting for me if I was in another part of Thailand during reporting time.

I think that it would take you a maximum of one hour to prepare your 90-day report and mail it off.  Just sit back and wait until the form is returned to you, then staple it into the back of your passport to avoid misplacing it.  No traveling, computer glitches or browser problems.  It's always easily doable.  Refer to TV for instructions.

I have done my last several 90-day reports online, simple, fast. Key items are: use Internet Explorer, log onto the Immi site and click the bottom left-edge sticker which is self-explanatory, on the new page read to the very bottom then agree and click to get next page. On that page fill in the red-starred items all upper case. Use the buttons for dates and other selection items, especially for the nationality (tricky). Fill all in then click for next page. When all OK write down the info at the bottom about the number you get etc. You will need those for checking back to verify. If all works well you will (maybe) get email from Immis, but check back on the same URL as used for the original 90-day report.
