YALA, 13 December 2016 (NNT) - Security has been reinforced in Yala province to ensure the safety of local residents and prevent future violence.

Police and soldiers have set up security checkpoints on Pipitpakdee Road in the municipality where all vehicles and individuals go through an inspection before entering the city area.

Officers are also searching for stolen vehicles and five wanted suspects. The inspection will be extremely stringent and thorough in a bid to prevent anyone with bad intentions to instigate violence in the populated area.

Yala Provincial Police Acting Commander Police General Kritsada Kaewchandee has instructed every police officer under his command to increase security patrols in crowded places in the municipal area and Betong district and to be vigilant at all times.
