Cannot access a local uk forum for the last 4 days.

Featured Replies

I have been regularly looking at www. kings lynn forums.co.uk for a while now but as of  4 days ago have not been able to get on the site. I am with 3bb internet and 4 days ago complained about the speed of the internet, it also just kept disconnecting as well.

Since then every time I try and connect to the kings lynn forums I get the same message:-

403 Forbidden    you dont have permission to access/view forum.php on this server.

I have tried using Firefox, Edge, Opera and Hola VPN anyone got any ideas why I am getting this message and how I can access the site?

Any help or dise would be much appreciated and I am not a computer wizard so please be very basic!

Use a VPN and I think you will be okay. I just tried it from Thailand and got the same message. Used a VPN and no problems.

I am using 3bb also.

It's indeed a problem at your side.

I can open it (King's Lynn and area Forums") without problems (ToT fibre internet without VPN or the like).

I sent you a PM with the link that works for me to be sure we write about the same.

It is working (with a hyphen before forums) but the name of the forum could indicate why it is blocked... in Thailand....

As written I am opening it from Thailand without tricks/tipps.

And the 403 forbidden message comes from the forum server and not from any man in the middle (internet censor or so).

And the OP writes that he also used Hola VPN which gives me another headache.

Could well be that your IP has been banned on the forum, though.

Such things happen. Don't know whether the OP's ISP provides static IPs or not.

Maybe, but it won't open for me on True with a Thai IP.

I have gone back to my VPN, it did not work the first but when I requested "fix it" it has now worked, thanks for the help I will just have to be a bit more patient with it!

So seems there is no other alternative.

BTW: there is some list from Google with a user map for this forum.

Following this you are the only user all over Asia

If you get into the forum now, then I would try to contact the admin about the reason for the original problem.

I just logged straight into the site just now. I am using Firefox, a ToT WiNet connection and no VPN.

Now for the last 3 days, even my VPN does not work on this site but ok on everything else, any more ideas, I have tried with Firefox, Opera, AVG, Internet explorer and HOLA VPN. Difficult to connect the site admin when I am being blocked. Any help appreciated, thanks.

i just tried no vpn and with 3bb, no problem. could be something on your computer, maybe the site doesn't like the vpn address, or maybe your computer cookies,

I would clear everything remember to get your passport before you do, and then retry without the vpn

edit using chrome

Works fine on AIS Fiber, 3BB fiber, True Online DSL, 3G, et al. without using a VPN.

It seems like there have been a lot of DNS issues here recently, although haven't seen any complaints over the past few days.

The Hola VPN does not work, I have gone to the VPN on OPERA and it works perfectly so the problem is solved for now!

Thanks for your comments and advice.
