SETV any advice greatful

Hi Guys,

 

I was previously on a METV and now need to get a new SETV. Where would you guys reconmmend? I have went to Vientiane before so would like to go somewhere else.

Will be bringing Thai girlfriend and planning to travel after christmas.

Savannakhet or Penang would be good.

Other locations nearby may want a flight out an possibley financial proof to get the visa.

KL can be difficult to get any visa. It seems to change day by day. You could try there and if you didn't get it go to Penang from there.

If want it be enjoyable then penang or even vietnam perhaps, savanakhet would be easy and cheap but not as memorable new year trip for a thai GF as vietnam or Penang .

Do you think this is also valid for Vientiane? I didn't saw such reports. May be i missed it. A friend of mine did his latest SETV in November (Vientiane). 7 SETV in a row without any problems.

 

However, I'm just back from Savannakhet. As you mentioned before, no problem to get another SETV. As it might be interesting for the OP, I also entered Thailand with a METV, plus a SETV from Vientiane and just with a SETV (from Yesterday) from Savannakhet. For the last SETV i handed them also a bank account - statement out. 

 

@charvy, since our situation is comparable, i can say that Savannakhet is a good place to go. Good luck.

He mentioned Vientiane in the OP so I did not mention it along with Savannakhet and Penang.
