Anyone use Badoo?

Recently single and looking around. A few blokes I have known have mentioned Badoo for internet dating but looks like everything costs money. Have been caught with these things before where they auto debit your card etc and once you give them your credit card details you're toast. Anyone have any experience or other suggestions? Thai friendly?

Steer clear of badoo if you don't fancy paying. I used it 2.5 years ago for a month and found out 6 months later it was billing me 2.49 euros a week.

I think you'll find all dating websites like that. I been caught before too. They do tell you in the small print and they make it nearly impossible to find the area to unsubscribe. In any case I tried Badoo today. Website and app clunky and hard to use. Thai friendly seems much better. Seems like a much better crop on TF too. Looks like most of them on their playing the game. In reality better off walking around the shops smiling a lot

Thai Cupid is OK, you search for free but can pay be credit card to send a message. It is auto renew but this can be easily cancelled  (just a couple of clicks) as soon as you pay. The site also tells you how to disable auto renew, it is very easy.

 

Thai Friendly allows you to search and also to send 1 message every 10 minutes for free. Within a couple of messages you can exchange LINE details etc so in effect TF can be used as a free Online dating service.

 

I have no experience of Badoo

Badoo has a lot of trash on it, but if you go through it carefully and just throw the money diggers, hookers and Ladyboys away, you can find some decent people.

 

It is 300  baht a month to use and easy to unsubscribe.

 

Some of the girls were just upfront saying they wanted to marry you for money and a better life. Others offered sex for a cost. One girl even had a price list for 'services' she would send to you via LINE

.

I even had some within the first five minutes of talking to them want to know if I had a job in Thailand, how much money I made a month, did I own my own Condo, did I own a nice car and would I build their family and house. One asked me to pay her car payments within 10 minutes of speaking to her.

 

Badoo has all sorts of people on it. Many of the older girls have children and are looking for you to help them put their child through schooling for them. Others want for you to take them out for dinner to expensive restaurants.

 

If you are into Ladyboys, it is a treasure trove for them.

 

I met my wife on Badoo. She was a village girl that wanted just someone to practice English with as a hobby. Every night I use to sit down for an hour and gave her a free English Lesson and some basic homework that I would mark the next day.

 

I ended up meeting her several months later, and we hit it off.

 

Like everything, you got to sort out the rubbish from the good in life. Badoo has a purpose and if used well and you are careful, can meet some friendly people. In the older generation (40 upward), lots of school teachers and government employees and I had a lot of nice dinners with some decent people. Once again, it is like anything; if you are careful you can have a good time and meet a lot of people.
