SWIFT charges less (It has always been B 400 for me, regardless of the amount sent), and I think the exchange rate offered is better, though this might depend on the day and the destination country.

The advantages of W.U. are that they will send to people who don't have a bank account, and their service is more or less instantaneous, depending of course on when their office at the destination opens and closes.

Fairly quiet in the forum...

You find a similar thread from 2014 here:

It's quite obvious as described in @allane 's post that a wire transfer (SWIFT) will give an overall better result.

Depending on the country from where you send (?) there might be even better services.

"lager amounts"  ...  that would count as liquid-assets ? :smile:

 

Agree that Swift is the way to go, changing hard-currency to Baht when it reaches here, not before sending !
