Hi all, I have a British Passport and had been living in Thailand for a while. ( my passport is full of Thai stamps )

I have had many visas including ED and lots of TR visas. Most of which were extended at the immigration.

I went out of Thailand and came back for a 30 day stamp. It was refused at DMK. After a while of Thai talking going on with my GF they told me never to enter again on a 30 day and always come back with a visa.

After the 30 days were up I went for a 30 day trip to HCMC and at the end went to the Thai embassy there. I was again refused a visa.

I decided to stay in HCMC for 2 more months which was what they give me on the visa extension.

Then back to the Thai Embassy and got a visa, went to Thailand for 30 days, back to VN for 3 months and again the same trip back to Thailand and back to VN for another 3 months.

Both times I went to the Thai embassy and paid the visa fee for visa which can last 3 months ( if 1900 BT extension at immigration )

Please can anyone tell me when I can come back to Thailand with another 30 day stamp as I don't need more than 1 month at each entry on these longer term TR visas.

The Immigration must be able to see that I am spending a lot more time outside Thailand than in it. Also can see that the previous 2 month( + 1 with ext ) are not fully being used up.

Sorry for all this going on but can anyone please advise....Regards Lee

You might have problems at DMK when you try to do another 30 day visa exempt entry. If you try it there again you should have the equivalent of 20k baht in cash and proof of an income outside from outside Thailand.

If you were to fly into BKK you probably would not be questioned.

Marry your girlfriend (who, I take it, is Thai), then go to Savannakhet for a multi-entry non-O visa.

...

...for as long as that option remains open.   Penang went to 100K baht, and now 400K baht needed to show.

If you have 400K or 40K Baht/mo income, you could qualify for a 1-year marriage-based Non-O, or Multis from other nations that require showing financial proof ...

... for as long as that lasts.   You might get "grandfathered" in under existing rules, if they raise the qualifying sum (they did this for retirees).

Even if you are married to a Thai and living here for decades, supporting her and her family, you are still in the same boat as your first year - proving yourself as worthy to stay just one more year at a time, and reporting yourself to the authorities every 90 days.

It's not easy to "make long term plans" for much of anything in Thailand, unless you are Thai or very wealthy.
