I'm thinking of renting a house on Ko Pha Ngan island for a month and do the whole "live on an island, drink alot, beach bum" thing.

Anyone have experience with this place? (I've heard the Full Moon parties are a must!)

Sorry Moon, must've missed this one. there are plenty of houses for rent on Koh Phangan, varies from 3500-6000 for a month. Alternatively, if you come during the off-season (May-July, Sept-Nov--altho that is the rainy season), and you are too lazy to cook for yourself, many bungalows will do a good deal for long-term stayers. Best bet? come, rent a bike (drive carefully, you don't want to leave with a thailand tatoo) and look around. See what you like, what you don't. I wouldn't recommend staying in Hadrin, too expensive, too noisy, and too dirty.
