Soldiers in Lopburi camp hospitalised after severe punishment
yesterday my wife and I went to the army barracks to visit our son (17) on parents day, (he does army training 2 to 3 weeks a year to reduce his national service at 18) just like last time the separation and experience made him heart warmingly affectionate, quite unlike his normal self. He told us that the night before he had been put on guard duty by his evening sergeant from 1 to 5 in the morning, being my son he thought <deleted> that for a game of soldiers and slept through till the morning. It didn't go unnoticed, his evening sergeant left orders for the day sergeant to punish him with 80 press ups. The day sergeant took pity on him and said instead he was to run in full kit with a rifle 4 km in the hot sun on a rain drenched field, 1 km for every hour he didn't do guard duty. My son said he would have preferred the 80 press ups. Despite that he seems to be enjoying the camaraderie and army life in general. While we were sitting talking, the burly evening sergeant came walking around the parents toward us and my son sprang up like a released coiled spring giving him a crisp salute nearly knocking me of my stool, the sergeant returned the salute nodding and smiling as if to say all is forgiven. I'm definitely a fan of the military experience for a young man (not for me at that age though), the disciplinary experience makes a huge difference in character. He is looking forward to coming home and a hot shower, they only get cold showers. Like last year he will be polite and friendly without the teenage bull$hit for at least two weeks. -

Harris Lies, Americans Die. Illegal Aliens are more Important
Had there been no migrants to house, feed and care for, why would congress authorize that money be spent on them, instead of other programs? Like hurricane relief. Or veteran health care. Or... Or... This stinks for citizens, no matter how you try to spin it. -

Thailand's Cashless Leap: Ahead of the Asean Pack by 2028
I have. Have you? And there's Blackrock... They just started a BTC ETF last year. In that extremely short time period, they now own about 2% of all BTC. Convince me that a company that is the largest asset management firm in the world, managing around $9.5 TRILLION USD, is wrong about the value of BTC! Good luck with that. The ignorance people so proudly wave about to the world about BTC is staggering. Just keep right on following along with the talking heads in the mass media and other entities controlled by the banks. They obviously have your best interests at heart, right along with all of the politicians...🙄 They are all here to help you. So, keep right on funneling your money to them in their system. BTC is obviously a scam. You can lead a horse to water, but you can't make it drink. And when they are as stubborn and arrogant as many BTC deniers, I'm sort of glad they don't drink. They don't deserve the refreshing fulfillment that water gives to one that is on the edge of fatal dehydration. It makes me think of Plato's Allegory of the Cave (in Book Seven of "The Republic "). These ignorant deniers are just like those prisoners preferring to stay in the familiar darkness of the cave than be rescued and come out into the light and learn what their rescuer is trying to explain to them! -

Corruption scandal hits the brakes: Thailand’s bus industry whistleblows dirty dealings
I still remember what happened within 7 feet from me, 16 years ago during the Chinese New Year season. Some idiot launched 3-inch wide fireworks only a feet away from the front door of a small internet cafe I used to use frequent. Kaboom! and the whole building was shaken as if artillery round impacted nearby ground. Fortunately, no one got injured or killed by that... -

Chiang Mai on High Alert as Ping River Surges Beyond 5.25 Metres
Slightly off topic, One good result during the flooding ...... Couldn't get my usual Friday night eatery, Rajdarbar Indian restaurant in LK. So tried La Casita Mexican restaurant in Ratvithi road, it was very good, free chips and dips, 3x soft tacos and a coke for 260bht. Couldn't eat all the chips. -
