Jumbo1968 Posted December 31, 2016 Posted December 31, 2016 (edited) Unbeknown to me my Thai Girlfriend put me on her sons Birth Certificate as the Father, I am not, I had a DNA Test to confirm this. Would he qualify for a U.K. Passport ? Please no trolls, just honest answers. Edited December 31, 2016 by Jumbo1968 Mistake in post
grankboy Posted January 6, 2017 Posted January 6, 2017 I know a family who did the same a couple of years ago and the child got her British passport in Thailand, and there now living in the UK
Preacher Posted January 7, 2017 Posted January 7, 2017 Getting a passport and being legally entitled to it are two different thin. Seems the child is not legally entitled to it. If OP has a problem with being on the birth certificate he can repudiate the child as his and have his name removed from the birth certificate.
blackcab Posted January 19, 2017 Posted January 19, 2017 If you made a false declaration and your countersignatory was none the wiser then there is a 99.99 per cent chance the child would receive a UK passport without any queries at all.
Patriot Posted January 19, 2017 Posted January 19, 2017 Yes he would. You're on the birth certificate. Your GF will have to sign s statement that she agrees to him having one. The process is relatively straight forward. I was actually on TV to see how to renew my son's UK passport??????????????

I know that for a married couple the wife doesn't have to do or sign anything other than provide some documents.
