Need advise regarding multiple entry Non-B of a foreign employee

Recommended Posts

My company (not a school) is hiring a European currently holding a tourist visa, and after a hiccup with provincial employment office, we finally got the letter needed for a non-b from them. I am new to this visa rules and regulations, but I have tried to learn and make do.  Now I am sending the new employee to Myanmar to do Non-B visa and hopefully he will come back with it...

The next step would be getting a multiple entry 1 year non-b for him, since we might need to fly out soon after, and that is where I scratch my head again. I guess it is best I plan things ahead in case there is an unforeseen complication. I kind of have a rough procedure in my head what need to be done step by step, but I would appreciate any advise from anyone gone through this before for any unexpected difficulties, so I could be prepared beforehand. Here are the steps I believe I need to go through.

1. I believe that after he comes back with a single entry non-b, we just need to go back to provincial employment office to pick up his work permit. This is when we get the blue book? Stating in the letter from them, we only need to show up with his non-b visa and a medical certificate (which we already got one from a clinic).

2. Then, off to provincial immigration office to change his visa to a multiple entry 1 year non-b (could we change his visa right away or there is a waiting period?). I have a list of required company documents, pretty much the same set as I submitted at provincial employment office, so I guess I would just use the same set of copy as before (company financial and tax report, and other employees' social securities paper)?

3. After get the new visa, then back to provincial employment office to extend his work permit according to the new visa.

4. All done? We just need to report his stay every 90 days over the internet?

These steps sound simple enough, but things never be as straight forward as it should, is there anything that I should be aware of? Anything at all would be very helpful and greatly appreciated.

1. Correct

2. A multiple entry non-b visa cannot be applied for at immigration. Those are only issued by embassies and consulates.

A one year extension of stay can be applied for at immigration during the last 30 days ot the 90 day entry from the non-b visa. Requirement from Bangkok immigration website are here. extension based upon working .pdf

After the extension is completed a multiple re-entry permit could be applied for,

If he needs to travel before getting the extension a single re-entry permit could be applied for to keep the remainder ot the 90 day entry valid when he enters the country.

3. The work permit should be issued with a one year validity if that is what you applied for.

4. The 90 day report can be done online.
