Murder for 3,000 baht - man and woman latest arrests in police ordered killing

BANGKOK: -- A man was paid just 3,000 baht to murder a woman in Kanchanaburi, it has been claimed.

 

The news came after a top policeman was held for his involvement in the murder.

 

Arrested last night were Phoomithat "Um" Phiboonsawat, 24, and Miss Kannika "Dao" Krumram, 38. The former gave himself up to Kanchanaburi cops while the latter was arrested on a warrant in Buriram, reports Daily News.

 

Both were held pending interview today. Also held in Taling Chan, Bangkok, were Bang Pong police superintendent Amnuay Pongsawat and Niwat "Joke" Suaythong.

 

Amnuay is believed to have ordered the killing of Suphatsorn Phonthaisong, 28, who was found buried at a deserted resort in Kanchanaburi yesterday evening.

 

Daily News reported that "Um" was paid just 3,000 baht for his involvement in the murder. Daily News also said that "Dao" was angry with the victim who took her money to spent on other women.

 

It was again reported in the Thai press that the victim was a "good looking 'Tom' ".

Life really is cheap in Thailand,I hope these are not the only ones

to be convicted ,and it includes the top policeman that ordered

the killing.

I knew life was cheap here. But 3000 baht for offing somebody is outrageous, tragic, and frankly scary.

I am going to hedge my bets that the cop who orchestrated the whole thing gets bail and flees while these less well connected / well heeled accomplices will get the full weight of the law.

Money which "Dao" herself probably fleeced from the senior policeman in the first place. Just a thought.

 

After all, the married senior policeman allegedly had an extramarital affair with "Dao", who in turn allegedly had an affair with the murder victim, who in turn allegedly maintained a merry-go-round with "other women". The doofus in the whole story? The low-life 24-year-old milk beard who thought that being paid 3,000 Baht was worth committing murder for. And you know what? I wouldn't be half surprised if it eventually came to light that the doofus had an affair with "Dao", too. Or the policeman.

Metropolitan police on the hunt for three other suspects in the murder of woman 

 

 

BANGKOK: -- Metropolitan police are still on the hunt for three other accomplices wanted for the murder and bury of 28-year old woman, Ms Supaksorn Ponthaisong, in Kanchanaburi province while they will send two prime suspects to the court this afternoon for extension of their detention.

 

Police said seven persons were involved in the murder, and four have been arrested, one of them the police chief of Ban Pong district of Ratchaburi province, Pol Col Amnuay Pongsawat.

 

But the officer denied any connection in the murder, although admitted of knowing her casually.

 

Metropolitan Police Bureau commissioner Pol Lt Gen Sanit Mahathavorn arrived at Nong Khan Plu police station in Kanchanaburi this morning to question a third suspect, Ms Kannica Krumram.

 

He said Pol Col Amnuay, and another suspect would be escorted to Talingchan Criminal Court in Bangkok this afternoon for court’s permission to extend their detention.

 

He said the police would also oppose bail for the suspects.

 

Among the three fugitives wanted for the case are soldiers, he added.

I read an interesting article in BP some years back on hit men/women, you could get a hit done up north for Bt 500, this guy was robbed.

Wow, the going rate to get rid of a Tom permanently is only Bt3,000!!!!! in Thailand.  My God!   These "poor" things are really atthe bottom at the social strata, no wonder I see many of them behaving very arrogant and most of the time involved in shady deals, etc. I never trusts them.  By the way, what is the going rate to get rid of Kathoeys in Thailand I wonder?????? See so many of them being reported in Pattaya either stealing or engaging selling themselves (yucks! what type of "things" buy them, I wonder.) or scamming tourists.

Actually I believe the minimum wage is 300 per day × 20 for a 5 day week = 6,000 but if he is making her work more then he is abusing her.

We are being told that, in another high-profile murder case currently being reported on (https://is.gd/4fI4IK), that the prosecutors are seeking the death penalty.

 

Surely, a premeditated hit such as this one, allegedly ordered by a police superintendent, deserves a similar punishment for the orchestrator ???

I find it amazing the number of suspected criminals who voluntarily turn themselves in to the RTP, and who respond to "invitations" to present themselves for arrest and/or interrogation. Where I come from, Mr. Plod comes and takes you away, voluntarily or otherwise! 

 

If I were a murderer, or accessory, I would be running as fast as I could, hiding, or changing my identity.

 

Equally amazing is the response to the odd one who fails to appear ... Whole regiments of police and army cannot prevail...........

 

BTW I have a criminal record, for parking on a double yellow line in the UK - arrested, taken to the cop shop, cooled heels for a couple of hours, then interviewed, charged and prosecuted! Pled guilty by letter, fined £5, no points on the licence but saddled with the criminal record, now purged. All very friendly.  A friend, sadly now deceased, had one for riding a bicycle on a pedestrian footbridge. Both are considered criminal offenses in the UK, not traffic offenses! But maybe they just wanted tea money.......

 

Here it seems murder and manslaughter are lesser offenses than riding a motorbike without a helmet! All to do with the cashflow, I suppose.

Mor Nim, the wife of the Olympic shooter Jakkrit was given the death sentence, then let out on bail.

Each case has it's own merits, money usually playing an important part.
