Burning Forests and Air pollution in Asia 2017

Dear Friends,

The smoky season will start at mid February in North Thailand. Perhaps we can try and list those "RED" highly polluted regions in Asia, so we can make the right decisions, and if possible avoid those regions in the coming months.

Related to this, besides North thailand, which other regions suffer from burnings?

It's best if someone can add (at least some) quantifiable data.

THANKS in advance!

There's an App for that.  And anyone with a smartphone with a web browser can check the air pollution website for your location.  The Thai government has air monitoring in all cities in Thailand, some cities have multiple locations:

When the number goes above 50, put on a mask (both oudoors and indoors--where do you think indoor air comes from?).  If it goes above 100 or 150, get out of town.

I'd recommend a week or two in Koh Chang.  If there's rain in Myanmar (where the illegal burning happens) then the number will go down and you can go back.

It's as simple as that.  Any rich Farang with no job and pockets full of money should do just fine, no need to get your knickers in a twist, mate ?
