the loops show the system approaching from the south. it has been moving northwest all night.

The Japanese Himawari-8 satellite takes a photo every 10 minutes. It takes about 20-30 minutes to get the latest data on the server. So you can see weather systems approach in almost real time.  And it is raining again.

Actually nice as that might be the local weather radar normally provides a better indication of current conditions.  Remember time is Zulu so add 7 hours.
